Road closures and transportation disruptions are expected in Singapore on August 9 among National Day celebrations

Road closures and transportation disruptions are expected during National Day celebrations on Thursday, August 9. The Marina Bay area will close main roads between 14:00 and 23:00 (local time). The following roads will be closed: Stamford Road/Raffles Avenue/Republic Boulevard from St. Andrews Road to Republic AvenueBayfront Avenue/Temasek Avenue between Marina Bay Sands and Raffles Boulevard, Nicoll Highway/Esplanade Drive/Fullerton Road/Collyer Quay between Raffles Avenue and Marina Boulevard, Fullerton Road from Connaught Drive, and Connaught Drive between Fullerton Road and Stamford Road. Portions of Ang Mo Kio Street 31 (Ang Mo Kio neighborhood) will be closed from 16:00 to 21:00 for the Teck Ghee National Day Carnival on Thursday. Several roads will also be closed in the Sungei Kadut neighborhood from 07:00 to 10:00 for a road race. Only police and emergency vehicles will be authorized to use these roads during the concerned periods. Parking restrictions will be strictly enforced. Additionally, SMRT bus services 75, 167, 171, 700A, 857, 960, and 961 will have modified routes and stop locations in the Civic District between 14:00 and 23:00 on August 9. Further details are available on the SMRT website.
