The accident occurred around 12:30 near the town of Thoreau, 172 km (107 mi) west of Albuquerque, when a semi-trailer truck crossed the median and collided with a passenger bus. Police say a blown out tire caused the driver to lose control of the truck, causing the crash that left seven people dead and more than 40 others injured.
