Sweden: Tunnel fire halts train service in Stockholm region on June 22

Service on all commuter train lines south of Stockholm Central Station as well as on regional lines to Gothenburg and Malmö has been interrupted after a cable fire on the morning of Thursday, June 22. The fire occurred in a tunnel between Stockholm South Station and Stockholm Central Station; two injuries were reported. Authorities expect service to return at some point during the evening, although it is currently unclear when precisely normal operations will resume.
