Hungary: Activists to hold protest march in Budapest May 11

Activists to march in Buda district of Budapest, Hungary, from 15:00 May 11. Heightened security, transport disruptions likely.

Warning

Activists affiliated with the Our Homeland Movement (Mi Hazank Mozgalom) party plan to hold a protest march in Budapest on May 11. The purpose of the demonstration is to denounce the WHO and immigration. Participants will gather at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs building on Jozsef Bem Square (Bem Jozsef Ter) at 15:00 before marching to the State Secretariat of Health building on Fo Street (Fo Utca). It is unclear how many participants may attend.

Heightened security and localized transport disruptions are likely near the protest site. Confrontations between demonstrators and law enforcement officers, potentially escalating to clashes, cannot be ruled out.

Avoid the affected area as a standard precaution. Allow additional time if traveling near or between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and State Secretariat of Health in the afternoon or evening. Strictly heed all instructions from law enforcement officers. Immediately depart the area at the first sign that any security disturbance may occur.
